Additional The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty Information

Rice writing as A. N. Roquelaure.

In the traditional folk tale "Sleeping Beauty," the spell cast upon the lovely young princess and everyone in her castle can only be broken by the kiss of a Prince. Anne Rice's retelling of the Beauty story probes the unspoken implications of this lush, suggestive tale by exploring its undeniable connection to sexual desire.

What Customers Say About The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty:

I am so very pleased. It was a perfect book and a First Edition in GREAT shape. Just as the seller said.

a princess and her court are all cursed and have been in slumber for hundreds of years. The ending is a cliff-hanger and obviously sets you up for the next book in the series - I haven't decided whether I'll pick it up or not. It is by far the most sexually graphic novel I have ever read. Obviously from the cover alone you can tell this is an erotic version of the story. But I couldn't help myself. Along comes a Prince and instead of kissing Beauty he sexually initiates her into waking (yes, my eyes were the like saucers when I read this - and this was only like the 2nd page).

I will confess that I am intrigued to see what will happen next. The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty is a "very" different take of the Sleeping Beauty folktale we are all used to. Obviously Disney's version flew right out the window after reading a little into the second page. I really did.

So I put it down for a couple of hours and I tried not to think about it. I wanted her to put up a fight - I can't imagine just letting myself be put in the dire position she was thrust into (no pun intended) without putting up even a tiny fist in the air and screaming at someone, scratching, biting or throwing a shoe.Once I realized what the story was about (and after someone being sexually impaled on a statue) I really considered putting the book down - this was obviously not my cup of tea. I picked it up again and just couldn't put it back down. This is the first book of a 3-part series by author A.N. hmmm.My final thoughts - in order to truly enjoy this story you must be able to completely give yourself over to the fantasy and leave your inhibitions and "Girls Rule" attitude at the door and then all I can say is enter at your own risk.

It made me blush, gasp and I know more than once I had to glance around just to make sure no one was reading over my shoulder. Which is fine. Roqueluare (pen name for Anne Rice). The gist of the story remains the same.

I needed to see how much more poor Beauty would endure and if she would ever grow a backbone. What I couldn't deal with was Beauty's submissive nature. The Prince then drags her off to his kingdom where she becomes his sex slave to pleasure and punish at his every whim.To be honest, I can't say I really liked this story - and not for the reasons you would think either. I'm not much of an erotica fan - but I can deal with it well enough.

yuck. What a waste of time. Although extremely disturbing, I actually got bored half way through and skimmed through to the end. I cannot imagine that there are two other loads of crap in this series.

I read Anne Rice books many years ago and kind of remember enjoying the vampire series. Again, a complete waste of my time. bondage, rape, humiliation, torture, bondage, rape, humiliation, torture. I found myself reading this book with an actual grimace on my face.

Anne Rice is one twisted individual and I only hope I can get some of the disgusting images from this book out of my head. Thankfully I downloaded this as an ebook from my public library and didn't waste any money on this - thats what the one star is for. Endless rapes, characters that are not even remotely developed, repetitive bondage and spankings. Maybe I don't know what "erotica" means, but I expected it to be somewhat sensual.

not real life. This is out and out a full on fantasy world and it is wonderfully erotic. I am not writing a review for all three books.or maybe I will just copy and paste this post to all three. These are Adult FairyTale FANTASY books. This is not a manual of the BDSM lifestyle. There seems to be hundreds and hundreds of princes and princesses and of course, they are all beautiful. I LOVE these books and think about them often. I chuckle when people review "that could never happen" or something like that because, UHM YEAH.

No woman's periods, no STI's or STD's and constant intercourse without protection doesn't seem to result in pregnancy. Seems to skip right over winter.

I need to make that clear. The naked slaves never get cold.

My title says is it all. Be warned, there is major kink and lots of spanking.Pretty much everyone in this world is bi-sexual.

I am sure that these books are not everyone's cup of tea but I was very much taken in with this fantasy world. Please do not read these books and base them on real life.

They are mind blowingly wonderful but fully fantasy.

But it just gets dull after a while. Oh well, I say the first book of the series is a good popcorn read, being written by Anne Rice and all, but continuing and trying to finish the whole series is not worth it. I'm trying to study, yes study, princesses. For many decades, Disney has been creating animation features of various princess stories based on childhood favorite fairy tales.Disney being the finiest animator and all, but still, I think they are getting old.So, I had this wildest idea of creating animation of princesses.(yes, you could say in your dream, good luck drawing 24 pictures per second or a day.).Now, being that as a main motivation, I've started to read this book. But simply, just take the beginning part where Beauty is being woken up after 100 years of sleep. Just replace the beginning of the story with say, Snow white, or whatever princess, the story works the same. It just does not go anywhere. The entire story does not have any connection to the original Sleeping beauty story. Though I've enjoy the beginning parts, where the expectation of being answered on the question, what they mean by "happily ever after" and erotic in nature and all.
